Some words from the man himself below

"My style is very versatile. I've been influenced by boom bap, trap music and hardcore/hardstyle techno so none of my work comes out sounding the same. I call my sound in particular B.A.N.G Music. I think that sound comes out the most when I combine 2 or more of the elements that have inspired me to produce music. Some of my favorite producers are Just Blaze, AraabMuzik, Timbaland, and WhereIsAlex, Just to name a few. I have too many favorites to mention lol. As far as accomplishments go, I produced the homecoming song for Baltimore City College. So now the alumni association is trying to work on a music/art scholarship cuz it was so icy lol. I'm a 2 time winner at House Studio's iProduce showcase, I performed at Artscape last year, and most importantly I've managed to craft a sound that has never been done before and that's key (at least to me) in an over saturated market where everyone sounds the same"

I've been producing since I was 16 and decided to take it serious at 18. My favorite software is FL Studio 9. I still low key only use that version to this day. It just feels the best to me. I try to have my music feel as fluid as possible. I don't like dead loops so I switch things up as the song progresses. I'm a huge advocate of instrumental hip hop or just instrumental music period. I want my music to bump whether it has an artist on it or not. At the end of the day I want people to know BenJamin Banger as an artist before just "producer". Its bigger then rap beats.

Gold Rush: AGH

In this edition we link up with AGH fresh of his Dumb Love single with Mighty Mark and Hello Rello. AGH productions range greatly in sonic quality and technique. Mostly they rely on performance and aleatoric approaches that lead to indeterminate results. Sometimes the compositions are sample laden and the samples are used in untraditional, erratic, un-quantized fashion. Listeners should be in for a treat.

How long have you been producing? - I have been producing electronic music for 10 years.  I have been producing several different types of music for over 15 years.

Favorite Producers/ Inspiration - DJ Haram, Holly Herndon, Beyoncé, Pharmakon, TRANSGENDER/VHS, DJK40, Drainbows, Mighty Mark, JPEGMAFIA, Cex, Blaqstarr, Nina Simone, Randy Newman.

Biggest Accomplishments - Production wise, I would have to say the two records that I composed and released with my production trio Goldmansacks.com, CAPE GOD (2017) and MMMMM (2010), Goldmansacks.com includes fellow local producers (now living outside of Baltimore) DJK40 and Drainbows.  I am also very proud of my solo produced double album The Black Monolith Vols. 1 & 2 (2010).  In 2016, I was honored by a Lots Alive Grant and Two Person Exhibition for my quadrophonic sound installation, Upresting, at the Stamp Gallery, 2016.  Lastly, performing in 200 guitar orchestra at Lincoln Center NYC w/ Rhys Chatham, 2009 was really quite something .

Favorite pieces of hardware/software - I primarily use Max/MSP and Ableton for software.  In terms of hardware I use a range of controllers from an MPK Mini to a bluetooth mouse to a guitar, voice and cellphone.  I also just got a ROLI BLOCKS, which I think will be quite useful.

Any other interesting things about your productions.....
